Chilwero, means “place of high view” in the local language of Setswana. The Chobe Chilwero lodge sits above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and flood plains as far as Namibia.

Chobe Chilwero accommodation offers 15 stone & thatched bungalows, 6 king and 9 twin. Each cottage measures 61 square metres and has its own en-suite bathroom with a large sunken bath, indoor and outdoor showers, private garden with hammock, “sala” or private balcony, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer, mini bar as well as an in-room safe. The main public area includes a lounge and dining room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios.

The wine cellar is temperature controlled and houses a large variety of the finest South African and European wines. A range of spa treatments are offered at Chobe Chilwero, which are usually done in your room but may also be set up at the swimming pool.

The lodge also boasts a split-level swimming pool, library, curio shop and an communications centre, which offers telephone, fax and internet access.

The lodge is accessible by road and air. Kasane has its own airport, which is approximately 10 minutes away by road.
