Le Quartier Français is a colourful boutique hotel with a culinary reputation of note. Located right in the centre of the French Huguenot village of Franschhoek, this whitewashed auberge with its blue and white flower-filled gardens, gourmet delicacies, funky accommodation and friendly service is a haven of tranquillity.

In the main auberge there are fifteen en-suite bedrooms surrounding the central courtyard garden and gated swimming pool. Each spacious room is individually decorated in vibrant colours and designers guild patterns offering the comfort of home with delightful daily surprises. There are also two suites, each with their own walled garden, plunge pool and child-friendly loft room, which once combined to form the owner’s own house.

At the end of 2005, Le Quartier opened the Four Quarters Suites adjacent to the main auberge gardens. Here, four sumptuous suites, entice discerning groups looking for fun-filled luxury. Each suite is brightly decorated with imaginative textures, fabrics and colours and features all the latest mod-cons from ipod docking stations to oversized flat screen televisions and a DVD library. A butler is on hand at all times to ensure personal service and meals can be arranged.

With culinary awards worth shouting about, including featuring in Restaurant Magazine’s ‘Worlds 50 Best Restaurants’ for the last 3 consecutive years, good food and drink is taken very seriously at Le Quartier. Their two restaurants are very different in style and cuisine.
The Tasting Room offers fine dining gastronomic tasting menus designed and prepared by celebrated chef Margot Janse and her team. Four, six or eight course gourmand menus are seasonally selected, exquisitely presented and accompanied by the best in South African wines.
By contrast, iCi is a relaxed bistro where casual meals are served to hungry visitors throughout the day. Freshly roasted chickens, salads and delicious juices are often the order of the day and can be enjoyed under parasols on the street-side terrace or within the cool, spacious cafe.
