Chobe National Park Safaris
Chobe National Park, is raw Africa at its best. During the dry season the climate and landscape are typical of semi-desert conditions - hot and very dry. Situated in north-east Botswana the 11,000 square kilometre park gets its name from the Chobe River, which forms its northern boundary.
Key highlights are...
- Highest elephant concentration in Africa
- Game drives
- Sun-downer boat cruises
- Night drives
- Guided walks
- Interaction with local peoples
Beginning as the Cuando River in central Angola the Chobe river crosses the Caprivi in Namibia and then forms part of the border with Botswana where it is first known as the Linyanti and then the Chobe, which in turn joins the Zambezi. Fantastic tours for small groups can be booked on a luxury houseboat on the Chobe.
The Chobe River front offers some of the best elephant (between 70,000 – 100,000!) viewing in Africa. Northern Botswana has the highest density of elephant, zebra and buffalo anywhere in Africa! Large prides of lions and other predators are prevalent in the area. The park boasts a bird population of some 450 species.
Depending on where you stay, activities such as game drives, boat cruises at sunset, walks and night drives can all be enjoyed. You have a wide variety of safari and tour options to choose from and we will happily tailor your holiday according to your needs.
