What difference does it make?

A successful safari is about far more than the destinations, lodgings and types of travel.  It is also about how good your guide is because it is up to him to ensure that you see everything there is to see and understand everything that you are seeing.

If he does not help you to develop your bush eyes and bush sense as early on in the safari as possible, you will come away with far less of an experience than you should have had. A good guide knows what to look for, where to look for it and how to spot it. He also knows how to help you see it and will delight in sharing his knowledge with you.

Well, those who will be visiting Botswana's Okavango Delta in the next few months are in for a treat! Every year this magnificent wonderland gets inundated by flood waters originating from the highlands of Angola. The waters arrive at the top or "panhandle" of the Delta in about January and get to the "end" of the Delta in June or so.
